From what I can see, I can't really test the Dune any further until I'm sure the srt subtitle files are actually being streamed. Interestingly, I have also found that external subtitles are not showing up on my Samsung - Which obviously means that they have never been working, and I never noticed as the files I needed subtitles for already had them embedded. Have tried various ones, have ensured that they are UTF-8, have the same name, and are not read only. However, no external subtitles are coming through in other files. It seems that embedded subtitles now show up, and I can toggle them by switching the subtitle option in the Dune menu on and off. contentdirectory.PacketVideoDLNAMessageBuilderĪlright, tried that and was somewhat successful. Link to the Dune website and the players specifications: I'm not really sure where or how to go further with this issue, I do hope I'll find some assistance here. My question is this: Does the Dune player actually support the method that Serviio delivers subtitles, or do I have no other option than to figure out a way of fully transcoding the file each time with the subtitles burned in? (I'd REALLY prefer to not have to do this method, as I often don't want subtitles, or only need them in certain parts). I have attempted to create my own transcoding profile for the Dune player in a hope I could get somewhere, but so far to no avail. Serviio is definitely doing it's job correctly, as it streams external subtitles to my Samsung E series TV elsewhere in the house with no issue. According to the Dune website, the player fully supports a wide range of external subtitle formats. However, I have never been able to get subtitles to work. It works beautifully and as the Dune player has vast format support, transcoding is never necessary. ![]() I have a Dune HD B1 player which I use to play my media from my dedicated server machine running Serviio 1.5. Let us know which of the three methods worked - if none work, it could be because your PC isn't powerful enough - but in any case post a detailed log and we can have a look.I hope this is the correct place for this. This time your video will be transcoded and the subtitles will be burnt in. Lastly that doesn't work, then go back to Serviio Console and check all three boxes (Enabling Always). Play the video on your TV and see if the subtitles Option is available on the remote.Enable both "Enable Subtitles" and "Enable Extraction of Embedded subtitles".If that doesn't work, then go back to Serviio Console and: You need to turn on subtitles using the Option button on your remote and select the Subtitle the Subtitle Language (if it appears) In Serviio Console, Delivery, Subtitles tab, enable "Enable Subtitles". ![]() I haven't got an ST50 but it may be able to support this natively. From what you have described the subtitles are embedded into the MKV file.
